AKWA IBOM STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION BACKS NUJ 2021 PRESS WEEK

 

The Provost, Akwa-Ibom State College of Education, Dr. Daniel Udo has charged media professionals to continue to uphold the ethics of the Journalism profession in the course of performing their duties.

Dr Udo gave the charge Wednesday, when he received a delegation from the NUJ Press Week Planning committee on a courtesy visit to the institution, ahead of the NUJ Press Week holding this December.

He said that when Journalists adhere to ethical principles, information they dish out will build, promote harmony, unity and progress of society.

The Provost who led the management team of the college to receive the NUJ Press Week Committee commended them for their contributions to the development of society through effective reportage.

He however advised the union leadership to guard the noble profession against infiltration of quacks, assuring that the College will support the Press Week.

Earlier, The State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Dominic Akpan who led the press Week delegation, extolled the Provost for his media friendly disposition.

He informed that the 2021 Press Week of the Akwa-Ibom NUJ is billed for Sunday 5 through Friday December 10 at the Emerald Event Centre, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo.

According to him, The press Week has as theme” Politics, National Unity and the Quest for Credible Elections in 2023- The Role of Journalism.”
