AKSCOE IMPLEMENTS FIRST EVER E-VOTING SYSTEM AND INAUGURATES NEW SUG EXCO MEMBERS
The Provost Dr. Daniel G. Udo has record another giant stride in the AKSCOE …The E-voting… the first in the history of Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit. The electorates, the electoral committee, the candidates, and the College management testified that the e-voting process was peaceful, transparent, perfect, timely, devoid hacking, and user-friendly.
After the successful conduct of E-voting SUG election today being the 25th day of February 2022, about eleven (11) executive members of the Union who were duly elected by the students of the college have been sworn-in to pilot the affairs of the students Union in the next one year in college.
The event which took place at the college mini theatre witnessed large turnout of students, members of electoral board, security operatives, and staff of the college of Education, including the PA to the provost.
Addressing the students, Provost of the college Dr. Daniel Udo ably represented by the Dean of students’ Affairs Division, Dr. Ubong Silas thanked the students for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner throughout the period of the election. He applauded the electoral Board members led by Dr. Ubong Esu for the innovation they introduced in the system of voting which leads to the peaceful and credible conduct of the election. He reiterated his commitments to bring more developmental strides to the college community. While congratulating the Newly elected and sworn-in Excos of the Union, Dr. Udo admonished the students to take their academic activities as one of the priorities in their lives.
Speaking on behalf of the Newly sworn-in Excos, the President Elect, Mr. Mfon Joe Udoette expressed happiness over his success in the just concluded SUG election, he promised to be President of the entire students in college, not a one sided president. He appreciated the management, staff, students and electoral board for the peaceful conduct of the election.
Also speaking was the immediately past president of the students Union government, Mr. Silas Asuquo who poured encomium on the electoral board for the New method of voting in which he described as the best method of conducting any election without any hitch. He used the medium to congratulates the Newly sworn-in Excos of the Union. He advised them to take their studies serious.
In a closing remarks, Obong Ime Akpan thanked the management and the electoral board of the college for the innovation they brought into the college during the conduct of this year’s SUG election. He described the e-voting method as the best method of conducting free, credible and transparent elections all over the world. He asked God to guide and direct the paths of the Newly sworn-in Excos of the Union.
